Separate housing for slip rings
The slip ring is enclosed in a separate housing to ensure that carbon dust does not enter the main motor housing, and different cooling arrangements are provided for the slip ring device and the motor. Easy to maintain, brushes can be permanently touched or lifted.
ABB slip ring motors for mining and cement have a frame size of 400 to 630, 4 to 12 poles. The voltage rating is 2.3 to 13.2 kV, available in both 50 and 60 Hz versions. The inlet protection grade is IP55, and the cooling mode is totally enclosed air to air or totally enclosed air-water. The motor has IE2 and IE3 efficiency levels. They are ATEX and global IECEx certified and certified for variable speed drives. The motors are available in 2-8 pole versions for all common voltages of 50 and 60 Hz.
