ABB supports Doosan Enerability, which was selected as the supervision company for the development of 8MW high-capacity offshore wind turbines. The project is led by the Korea Energy Technology Research Institute as a national project and supported by the Korean government. The project lasted about four years and was jointly participated by many industries, schools and institutions in South Korea. As a development partner, ABB provides electromagnetic, thermal and mechanical designs in addition to the active components of the generator stator and rotor for the prototype.
